Raoul's Shiraz Rosé 2012
Description
Rosé from selected Shiraz grapes, traditionally made by macerating on the skins for flavour
extraction. This wine has aromas of wild berries. Youthful and exuberant with full berry fruits and a
zesty crispness, refreshing the palate with every glass. Ideal as an aperitif or with food on a hot
summer’s day. Endlessly versatile and best served well chilled.

Yield: 8 tons/ha
Vintage conditions: Ripening conditions were favourable for an early pick,
preserving vibrant red berry and cherry fruit flavours.
Balling at Harvest 21° – 23° Balling
Vinification: Grapes were hand harvested from a select block of fifteen
year old Shiraz vines. Traditional Rosé techniques were used
for this vintage to create a light, fresh and fruity wine. The
grapes were crushed and allowed to macerate in a cold soak
for 8 hours. This process allows the juice to gently extract its
vibrant colour and lively aromas.
Maturation: Racked off gross lees and kept in tank for 3 months before
bottling.
Ageing Potential: Ready to drink now or within a few years.

Description: Sweet cherry and raspberry fruit on the nose. A lively palate
with a zippy acid to balance the sweetness,with pure flavours
that linger in the aftertaste.
Food suggestions: The fruitiness and acidity of this Shiraz Rose will match
perfectly with a grilled salmon, tuna, yellowtail or any mild
seafood dish. Also pairs well with ham, pork, and
Mediterranean salads.
