About Us

cafe_maida_vale1Located in Maida Vale’s Little Venice, Raoul’s flag ship restaurant first opened its doors to the locals in December 1985 setting an unprecedented standard of high quality food and service that made it almost an overnight success with an overwhelming response echoing to the far reaches of Central London.

Owner and founder Geraldine Leventis, whom previously to Raoul’s was a self-proclaimed “bored housewife” began her trade in entertainment, providing parties and gatherings for guests over many years, one of whom being Francis Bacon – critically acclaimed painter known well for one of his famous pieces ‘Portrait of Pope Innocent X, 1953′. Having this experience and a natural flair for business Geraldine soon saw the potential of an already existing Raoul’s in the form of a coffee shop which she envisioned to be as the Raoul’s we see today.

The Maida Vale premises soon blossomed into a bustling bistro which then was followed by the opening of Raoul’s Deli (Delicatessen) directly opposite its sister restaurant, which was as equally as successful from the get go. Thereon Geraldine has successfully grown Raoul’s into a limited company, expanding the franchise with 2 other Restaurants and a Delicatessen in London’s trendy Notting Hill and Hammersmith hotspots.

Together with Executive Chef Ziad Jaber and a dedicated and enthusiastic team of individuals vital to the ever thriving Raoul’s, Geraldine maintains the standard and consistently delivers the perfection we have come to expect from such a reputable name.
